Our loving mother and grandmother, Nelda Mary Dayton Smith, passed away February 27, 1998 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born March 6, 1908 in Dingle, Idaho to John Henry and Caroline Hannah Sparks Dayton. She married Delbert Edwin Smith on August 27, 1927 in Soda Springs, Idaho; later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.She was active in the LDS Church. She held many positions in the Primary and Relief Society and was called to do genealogy. She lived a life of service to church and family. Aunt Nell was always ready to help wherever she was needed.
Survived by daughters, Sandra J. Smith, Salt Lake, and Nada Nelson, Nampa, Idaho; grandsons, Steven Nelson, Idaho Falls; Gary and Scott Nelson, Boise; granddaughters, Jalene Kindred, Boise; Kellie Overall, Nampa; son-in-law, Paul Bolton, Paris, ID; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Delbert; daughter, Dorothy Bolton and one great-grandson, Randy J. Nelson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 3, 1998 at 11 a.m. in the Valley View 11th Ward, 4032 So. 2300 East. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday at the ward from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Montpelier City Cemetery.
