Reservations for group sites within Watchman Campground at Zion National Park will be handled through a national park service contract with Biospherics Inc. beginning March 15.

Visitors wishing to make reservations for the seven group sites within Watchman Campground must do so through Biospherics toll free number 1-800-365-CAMP (2267). Only the seven group sites will be on the reservation system this year. The remaining 200-plus individual sites in Watchman Campground will be added to the system in 1999. The South Campground individual sites will remain first-come, first-serve.The reservation cost will be $2.50 per site per night in addition to the $2 per person per night currently being charged. All charges will be collected by Biospherics at the time of reservation.

Reservations may be made 3 months in advance of arrival. The Biosperics Call Center hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mountain Standard Time seven days a week.

All reservations made through the Zion National Park reservation office through March 14, will be honored at the park upon arrival and will not be subject to the reservation contract fees or policy. "The reservation system will allow visitors to plan their trips with more certainty and provide them with a helpful and knowledgeable service," said Park Superintendent Donald A. Falvey.
