A Utah man was killed and three others were injured when the car they were riding in slid off I-15 and rolled in the desert during a heavy downpour.

Killed was: Masoud Abbasi, 40, St. George.He was pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:51 p.m. accident Tuesday.

Abbasi was driving 76 miles north of Las Vegas in a southbound lane when he lost control of his car and traveled off the roadway and down a ravine, Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Steve Harney said.

Harney said neither Abbasi nor passenger Misty Conley, 27, was wearing a seat belt and both were ejected from the car, which flipped and landed on its roof.

Conley was in stable condition at University Medical Center.

Simi Abbasi, 5, and Shamsi Habiban, 20, were strapped into the car and suffered minor injuries, Harney said.
