Tom Nissalke, former NBA coach and restaurateur and now a radio talk-show co-host on 1320-AM, was recently elected president of the Salt Lake Young Men's Christian Association Board.

He succeeds Kay Anderson, who was president for two years."With Tom's winning attitude, the YMCA is off to a good start for 1998," said Michael Andrews, chief operating officer.

Nissalke plans two fund-raising events, a YMCA Celebrity Golf Tournament and "Circle the Wagons for Kids." He also is creating an advisory board to assist the YMCA Board in a capital support campaign.

The new president says the YMCA has a "treasure" in Camp Roger in the Uintas. The agency, he said, is "working toward ensuring Camp Roger's future and providing quality programs to our young people."

Also, he said the YMCA is "still looking at the possibility of a downtown YMCA. We feel that such a facility would be a tremendous asset" to the Salt Lake area.
