A Riverton man was arraigned on eight additional child sex abuse charges Thursday, making a a total of 17 felony counts involving 12 young girls now between the ages of 7 and 14.

The two cases against Larry Eugene Griffith, 54, were ordered combined by 3rd District Judge Robin Reese. A preliminary hearing was set for March 31.Griffith was charged in December with six counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, all first-degree felonies, and three counts of dealing in harmful materials to a minor.

He was charged last week with eight additional felony counts, including four new counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, one charge of attempted sexual abuse of a child, and three counts of dealing in harmful material.

The incidents, according to the charges, occurred in Griffith's Riverton home between 1993 and 1997.

Griffith is free on bond. Reese ordered him to have no contact with any of the victims or any person under 18, except family members and those contacts must be in the presence of another adult.
