Former Treasury Secretary Lloyd Bentsen Jr. is recuperating at home from a mild stroke that landed him in the hospital for a few days.
"The doctors have strongly recommended that I cut back on my travel. For the first time, I am listening," the 77-year-old Bentsen told reporters Wednesday from his bed at Methodist Hospital in Houston."It certainly doesn't mean retirement for me," he said before his release. Doctors said the former U.S. senator from Texas has some slight coordination problems but is expected to fully recover.
