Here are some dance events scheduled for the upcoming week:
- THE REPERTORY DANCE THEATRE is offering another introductory class in the art of Tango on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center, 138 W. Broadway (300 South). Two more classes are scheduled March 4 and 11.Classes begin at 7:15 p.m. and cost $40 per couple. The class is in preparation for RDT's annual fund-raiser, slated for March 14, titled "Tango In the Rose"; it is a Cabaret Gala Benefit.
- THE ARTHUR MURRAY DANCE STUDIO is offering a free monthly seminar in Dancesport, beginning Feb. 26. Additional seminars will be held the last Thursday of each month.
Classes run from 8-9 p.m. in the Arthur Murray Dance Studio, 145 E. 1300 South. Class size is limited to 24 students; early phone registration is encouraged. Call 322-5850 for more information.
- THE UTAH BALLET COMPANY, based at the University of Utah, will continue its innovative Winter Concert run Feb. 26-28, at the Alice Sheets Marriott Center for Dance.
Evening curtain is 7:30 with a matinee Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $4 for students, senior citizens and U. faculty and staff. Tickets can be purchased at the U. Union information desk and the door. For additional information, call 581-DANS (3267).
- THE SCHOOL OF AMERICAN BALLET will hold auditions for its summer session on Friday, Feb. 27, in Room 110 at the Alice Sheets Marriott Center for Dance.
The times are as follows:
5:30-7 p.m. for ages 12-14 and 7-8:30 p.m. for ages 15-18.
There will be a $10 application fee, and students must register one hour before audition time.
The auditions will be open to intermediate and advanced students who will be 12 by July 1998. Students chosen will begin classes on June 22, in New York City.
