Movie stars Rachel Ward and Bryan Brown don't have to be in Hollywood to live the good life.
Married for 14 years, the celebrity couple gets away from it all at their 300-acre ranch in Australia, where gardening and horseback riding are more important than power lunches or script meetings.Using old photos, they renovated a 1912 farmhouse on the property to its original look, then packed the place with comfortable furniture and mementos from movie sets. The goal: casual comfort.
"There's only one rule in this house," Ward, 40, said in the March issue of InStyle magazine. "No one is ever allowed to destroy the cobwebs."
Brown, 50, whose film credits include "Breaker Morant," "F/X," "Cocktail" and "Gorilla's in the Mist," met Ward in 1982 on the set of "The Thorn Birds." Smitten, the Australian married the British beauty about nine months later.
Ward's credits include "Sharky's Machine," "Against All Odds," "The Good Wife" and the upcoming CBS miniseries "Love on the Land."
