A Deseret Chemical Depot security officer was injured by debris from a gun that accidentally discharged Friday morning.
A security officer was "function testing" his .9mm-caliber pistol when the gun accidentally discharged, said DCD spokesman Jon Pettebone. Two bullets were fired, one striking the floor and the other lodging in the base of a counter. The officer's partner was injured when debris from the discharged weapon struck him in the eye and cheek, Pettebone said.
