From hair coloring to computing, some 500 students from Granite and Jordan high schools got a taste of careers and the job market Wednesday at a career fair at the Taylorsville Branch of the Utah Department of Workforce Services. Students learned to apply for jobs, what training is required for certain occupations and the future job market. Businesses ranging from Packard Bell NEC Inc. to area construction companies participated in the event, the first of four planned through the spring.
