It wasn't hard for authorities to find a suspected taxi robber who accidentally shot himself in the foot. All they had to do was follow his trail of bloody footprints.
Taxi driver James Hooper returned to his cab at one point early Tuesday and was confronted by a man with a large caliber handgun, sheriff's deputies said. The suspect robbed Hooper and started to flee when his gun apparently discharged, striking his left foot. He limped away leaving a trail of blood.
Sheriff's deputies followed the trail to a nearby trailer park, where they arrested Timothy Lambert, 34, for investigation of armed robbery and took him to a hospital.
