A Sandy child was killed Sunday afternoon from injuries suffered in a sledding accident near Woodland Hills.

Killed was: Patrick Joseph Jensen, 5.Jensen was hiking with his father in Woodland Hills and climbed to an isolated, undeveloped area for sleigh riding. The boy rode a plastic sled down a switchback and apparently crashed and was ejected, Salem Police Chief Brad James said.

Investigators believe the boy suffered internal injuries. The father found his son face-down in the snow and was unsuccessful in an attempt to resuscitate him, James said.
