Newborn twins were found dead in the basement of a women's college dormitory.
It wasn't clear whether the girl and boy were born dead or alive, and police Tuesday were looking for the twins' mother. Autopsies were being conducted, but police said the infants didn't appear injured. They seemed to be full-term births.A housekeeper at Saint Paul's College found one of the bodies early Monday, and rescue workers found the second body when they arrived, authorities said. They were on the floor near the basement's utility room, said school spokeswoman Shena Crittendon.
Lawrenceville Police Chief Doug Pond said investigators believe the babies could have been born in the basement.
