Students at Brigham Young University as well as the community will have the opportunity to learn more about health issues during Wellness Week beginning Monday, Feb. 23.
The public is welcome to all events and lectures.On Monday, Jane Blackwell, a licensed psychologist, will give the keynote address at noon in the Varsity Theater. Blackwell received her doctorate in psychology and has coordinated several eating disorder programs in the Salt Lake City area.
Michael Maughan, clinical professor at BYU's Counseling and Career Center, and Stacey Richins, dietician at the McDonald Health Center, will both present lectures on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Maughan will present ways to manage stress at 1 p.m. in 3380 Wilkinson Center. Richins will speak on nutrition at 3 p.m. in 3380 Wilkinson Center.
Barbara Lockhart, professor of physical education, will speak Wednesday, Feb. 25 at noon in 3250 Wilkinson Center. Her topic is "Body, Mind, and Spirit."
Also on Wednesday, an eating disorder screening will be available in 1500 Wilkinson Center, the Counseling and Career Center.
