Francisco Luis Olcese, affectionately known as Gino, passed away from a heart attack Saturday morning, February 14, 1998, the day of love and friendship.

Gino was born in Lima, Peru on June 30, 1959. He immigrated to the United States in 1977. Gino loved learning and attended the University of Utah for many years. He mastered four languages and was a computer expert. He was a loving son and dedicated father. He will always be remembered by those he touched with a patient and interested ear and inquisitive mind.Gino is survived by his mother, Celia Valdivieso; his second mother, Paquita Mejia; his companion, Carla Schlabaugh; his stepson, Dylan; his siblings, Julio, Rosa and Juan Mejia; his cousins, Kathy, Frances, John, Marc, Alex, Chris, Chris, Jr., Joe, Angela, Silvia, Ompi, Lucy, Ada, Rosita; and relatives in Peru.

A memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, February 17, 1998 at 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 174 East 900 South. A viewing will follow from 4-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple.
