Michael Scott Withers returned to his loving Heavenly Father on February 12, 1998. He leaves behind a loving family that will greatly miss him. He lived life on his terms and preferred to go out and do rather than sit and wonder what if. He loved to be in the country and could often be found four-wheeling up in the mountains. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the peace he found in nature.
Mike treasured the time he had with his family, especially his son, Chase. Being with his family was a great source of happiness for him. He shared a special bond with his sister, Rebecca. He was a loyal brother, a loving and concerned father, and a devoted son. He respected his father and held him in high esteem. He was generous in nature and was always willing to help his family in any way he could.Mike strove for excellence in the activities he chose. He was empathetic towards others and was always a true friend. He was an ardent defender of the underdog regardless of consequences or popular opinion. His chosen profession was operating heavy equipment, which he loved. He worked on several jobs in Alaska and was most recently a shovel operator for Kennecott.
He is survived by his son, Michael Chase Withers of Boulder, UT; his parents, Buckley and Linda Withers of Provo, UT; his brothers Tom Withers of Provo, UT, and Jeff (Andrea) Withers of Pleasant Grove, UT; sister Rebecca (Jason) Hyde of Gresham, OR; grandparents Scottie and Velma Withers of Payette, ID; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Amy Stewart of Corvallis, OR.
He leaves behind a void in our hearts, and he will be sorely missed. We love you Mike!!
