Does anyone dream of a white Presidents Day?
If so, Monday didn't disappoint.Sunday evening's snowstorm hung around long enough early Monday to dump several inches on Wasatch Front communities.
Almost 5 inches fell on the Salt Lake benches, while about a foot of snow was recorded in Tooele. The Salt Lake International Airport received about 1 inch, according to the National Weather Service.
The storm also prompted highway closures in central and southern Utah. A stretch of I-15 between Beaver and Fillmore was closed for several hours Sunday evening, according to a Utah Highway Patrol dispatcher.
Other roadways, including sections of I-70, were also closed until snow could be cleared.
The storm was expected to move out of Utah late Monday.
Forecasters believe the rest of the week will be fairly dry until another snowstorm moves into the state Friday.
