Wanda Mae Austad Gibson, 82, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, died peacefully with family beside her on February 13, 1998 in Salt Lake City after a long illness.

Born July 6, 1915 in Garden City, Utah to Hannah May Farner and Casper R. Austad. Raised in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Ogden High School in 1931. She married Clyde E. Gibson January 30, 1937 in West Weber, Utah. They made their home in Salt Lake City. She spent her last four years in Draper. She had three children, 13 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. She loved her home and family. She was an active member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints with a strong and abiding faith in prayer. She had continual concern and care for other people in need.Survived by Jack C. Gibson, Tempe, Arizona; Donna Kay Flowers (Tom "Bud"), Draper, Utah; Robert C. Gibson (Evelyn), Columbia, Missouri; grandchildren, Tom, Michelle, Jeff, Aaron, Jill, Staci, Mark, Scott, Dan, Julie, Roger, Darin, Evan; and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, on November 27, 1980; and brother, Sheldon F. Austad.

Special thanks to care givers, Mary D., Jenny, Jessie, and Staci, who assisted so lovingly during her last years. Also to Sandy Home Health nurses and aides.

Friends and family may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Estates, 5850 So. 900 E., and 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Interment and graveside services at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 E. 4580 So., at noon Tuesday, February 17. Funeral Directors, Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary.
