Melba Farnsworth Call, age 87, died February 12, 1998 of natural causes while staying with her daughter in Idaho.

She was born November 14, 1910 in Ely, Nevada to Milford and Lois Gunn Farnsworth. She worked for White Pine County Highway Dept. for many years as a legal secretary until she met and married Willard Vivian Call. They were married September 13, 1935 in the Logan Temple.Melba was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to so many. Her greatest joy in life were her grandchildren. She worked as a secretary for Hercules Power Company and the Salt Lake County Treasurers Office. Her last 10 years were spent as a crossing guard at Oakridge Elementary School. She loved those little children. Her life was filled helping people and serving people in need. She received an award for outstanding community service from the County Commission and Community Council. She had the world's most generous heart. She also served her church faithfully in many different capacities.

Preceded in death by her husband, Vee and daughter, Lois Ann Call Smith.

Survived by children, Vivian (Neil) Bamberger McCarthy, Bill (Linda) Call, Mary (Norm) Davis, Evelyn (Doug) Anderson, Ginny (Larry) Christensen, Ron (Pam) Call; 45 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 16, 1998 at 1 p.m. in the Mt. Olympus 7th Ward Chapel, 4407 South Fortuna Way (3695 East). Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy and Monday at the Ward from 11:45 a.m to 12:45 p.m. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
