David H. Jeppson, executive vice president of Salt Lake-based Intermountain Health Care Inc., has been named to the company's board of trustees.
The 22-member volunteer board oversees activities of IHC's regional health care system in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming.Jeppson started with IHC as vice president for hospital operations in August 1975, four months after the company was formed to assume operations of 15 hospitals divested by the LDS Church. He was named executive vice president in 1977.
Before joining IHC, Jeppson was administrator of the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle, Wash., and had been executive director of the three-hospital system for the University of Colorado Medical Center in Denver and Boulder, Colo.
He is a fellow and chairman-elect of the American College of Healthcare Executives and past chairman of Healthcare Forum, formerly the Association of Western Hospitals.
A University of Utah graduate with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Jeppson also holds a master's degree in public health and hospital administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
