Kenneth Lamar Noid, who held employees of a Domino's Pizza hostage because he thought the firm's "Avoid the Noid" ads were directed at him, has been ruled not guilty by reason of insanity.

DeKalb County Superior Court Judge Curtis V. Tilman ordered Noid, 23, of Albany, removed from the county jail Tuesday and placed in the custody of the state Department of Human Resources.Assistant Public Defender W. Edward Nethery said Noid probably would be sent to the Georgia Mental Health Institute, where he spent three months in the spring.

Nethery said Noid would remain in the state's care until doctors determine he is ready for release. Then he will have to apply for parole.
