COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Jamal Sutton hat trick led the Columbus Crew Reserves to a 5-2 victory over the Real Salt Lake Reserves on Sunday at the Crew training facility in Obetz.

Sutton tallied his first goal in the 21st minute and added Nos. 2 and 3 during the second half (in the 59th and 67th minutes).

Columbus jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on first-half goals by Luis Gallardo (9th minute) and Sutton. Real Salt Lake pulled within 2-1 on a goal by Leighton O'Brien in the 56th minute. However, The Crew responded quickly with Sutton's second and third goals.

Former Crew player Dante Washington found the net late in the second half (89th minute), bringing the score to 4-2.

A goal in the 91st minute by Crew guest player Andrew Rutledge closed out the game.

Columbus improved to 2-0-1 in the reserve division, while Real Salt Lake is now 0-3-1.
