Dr. John Aldous Dixon, surgery professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine and senior consultant to the U. Laser Institute, has received the highest award given by the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery.

Dixon was presented the 1988 William B. Mark Memorial Award in Dallas at the society's annual meeting last month.The award was provided by the A. Ward Ford Memorial Institute, a philanthropic organization, whose board of directors joined the society's awards committee in unanimously selecting Dixon for the honor in recognition of his clinical, teaching and research contributions to the advancement of lasers in medicine.
