Seattle Seahawk fullback Tony Burse has been suspended for 30 days by the National Football League after violating the league's substance abuse policy, the NFL said Saturday. The Tacoma News Tribune reported that Burse had failed to pass a drug test and the league told the team Friday Burse was not to play.

Team spokesman Gary Wright said earlier Saturday that the team had arrived home about 5 a.m. Saturday from its Friday game against the Phoenix Cardinals in Tempe, Ariz., and he could not confirm a suspension was ordered.
