Public Masonic funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday for Clyde Early Jr., 61, a Salt Lake businessman and former owner of Evans & Early Mortuary, who died May 26, 1988, of a heart attack.

The services will be held at 574 E. First South, where friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until services.Mr. Early, who was known to his friends as Bish, suffered a heart attack after playing golf.

Mr. Early was past president of Past Shooters of the One Shot Antelope Hunt; former president of the Utah Chapter of Safari Club International; and a member of the Chesapeake Duck Club and Bay View Duck Club.

He graduated from East High School and the University of Utah, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Salt Lake Rotary Club, Salt Lake Country Club, Cottonwood Club and the Utah Funeral Directors Association. He was also a member of the Advisory Council of the Friends of the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum at Brigham Young University.

Mr. Early was a member of the Mason's Argenta Lodge 3; a charter member of Twin Peaks Lodge 32 Scottish Rite Bodies of Salt Lake; a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, El Kalah Temple of the Shrine; knight commander of the Court of Honor and a master councilor of the Salt Lake Chapter of the Order of DeMolay.
