The immediate past president of the Utah Heritage Foundation board of directors, James W. McPherson III, was elected to the board of directors of Preservation Action during the group's annual convention.

Established in 1974, Preservation Action is a national lobby group with a network of volunteer activists in every state.

"McPherson was elected to the Preservation Action Board because of his record in furthering the cause of historic preservation in Utah, the Utah Heritage Foundation's Properties Committee, Public Policies Committee, and a president for four years," a press release said.
