POLICE OFFICERS FROM THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY RAN WITH THE ATHLETES ON A COURSE THAT BEGAN AT I-215 AND REDWOOD ROAD AND ENDED SOUTH OF THE UTAH STATE PRISON. CIVIC LEADERS, INCLUDING SEVERAL AREA MAYORS AND GOV. NORM BANGERTER, CONDUCTED BRIEF CEREMONIES ALONG THE RUN, WHICH WILL CONTINUE EARLY FRIDAY AND END AT THE OPENING CEREMONIES OF THE THIRD ANNUAL UTAH SPECIAL OLYMPICS SPRING GAMES ON THE BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY CAMPUS. ORGANIZERS SAY DONATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RAISE $4 MILLION THIS YEAR FROM THE SPRING AND SUMMER GAMES.
