The United Paramount Network, still struggling to find both an identity and some decent ratings, will add four new shows to six returning series in the fall.

Well, three new shows and one - "Clueless" - that was canceled by another network.Unlike the WB, UPN will not add a fourth night of programming in the fall. But it did announce such plans for midseason.

The mininetwork will air the "UPN Thursday Night Sci-Fi Movie" beginning in the first quarter of 1998. It will feature both TV and theatrical movies.

The additions to UPN's fall schedule - all comedies - are:

- "Good News" (Mondays, 8 p.m.) is about a young pastor who isn't greeted with open arms when he takes over a congregation.

- "Hitz" (Tuesdays, 8 p.m.) is a "raucous" comedy about two hip, young music industry executives "with an ear for talent and a talent for trouble."

- "Head Over Heels" (Tuesdays, 8:30 p.m.) is about two mismatched brothers - one straightlaced, the other a womanizer - who run a video dating service owned by their "sexpot" mother.
