A total of $923,000 in grants to non-profit arts organizations was approved by the board of the Utah Arts Council on April 29, for the fiscal year 1989, beginning July 1. These included dance, $190,100; literary arts, $17,100; assistance to literary magazines, $14,250; multidiscipline, $126,594; music, $224,900; theater, $150,650; visual arts/architecture-environmental arts/design, $142,200; and current year applications fund, $57,206.
