First District Judge Gordon Low has tentatively set a July trial date for Box Elder County Constable Peggy Braegger Johnson on charges she tried to kill her husband with poison and illegal drugs.

But Low also said Thursday the proceedings could be delayed to August or December if it is not possible to begin the five-day trial in July.

Johnson, 37, is free on $25,000 bail. She was arrested Jan. 30 on charges of attempted murder, drug possession and administering a lethal dose of poison.
