A conflict in scheduling has forced Davis County Republicans to move their convention site Saturday from Woods Cross High School to Davis High School in Kaysville, county GOP chairman Steve Smoot says.

The convention begins at 5 p.m. with delegate registration and an opportunity for delegates to meet candidates until 6 p.m.Candidates will meet at the high school at 2 p.m. Saturday to draw for and set up information tables, then meet at 4:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium, Smoot said.

Nominations for county offices will begin at 7:40 p.m., with state legislative caucuses beginning at 8:15 p.m.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, Rep. James Hansen and Gov. Norm Bangerter, in addition to local candidates, are scheduled to speak at the convention.
