An Ogden man has been sentenced to serve from one to 15 years in the Utah State Prison for distributing or arranging to sell cocaine.
James. P. Brooks, 45, was sentenced Tuesday by 2nd District Judge John Wahlquist following a plea bargain agreement.Brooks had been charged with six counts of distributing cocaine, but four of those counts were dismissed after the defendant pleaded no contest to the other two charges. A third-degree felony charge of possessing a homemade bomb was also dismissed in exchange for the guilty pleas.
Prosecutors charged that Brooks recruited an undercover officer to blow up a van of a woman who owed the defendant money.
