Funeral services for President Marion G. Romney, president of the Council of the Twelve of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be conducted at noon May 23 in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. President Romney, 90, died Friday morning at his home.

President Gordon B. Hinckley, first counselor in the church's First Presidency; Elder Boyd K. Packer, a member of the Council of the Twelve; and Elder F. Burton Howard, a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy, will pay tribute to their longtime associate.President Thomas S. Monson, second counselor in the First Presidency, will conduct the services. The Mormon Tabernacle Choice will provide music. Elder Russell M. Nelson and Elder Neal A. Maxwell, members of the Council of the Twelve, will offer the invocation and benediction, respectively.

Family prayer will be offered at the mortuary by Richard J. Romney, and the grave will be dedicated by George J. Romney. Both are sons of President Romney.

Pallbearers will be G. Steven Romney, M. Scott Romney, John H. Romney, Richard Bud Romney, Leland H. Boardman and Paul B. Zackrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew C. Romney and Allen E. Zimmerman.

Burial will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr.

There will be no public viewing.

The First Presidency announced that the Church Administration Building, 47 E. South Temple; Church Office Building, 50 E. North Temple; Relief Society Building, 76 N. Main; Annex Church Office Building, 61 E. North Temple; and Information Services Department Production Division building, 125 S. State, will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to permit employees to attend the funeral.

There are no plans to broadcast or televise the services.
