A special show section appears in today's Deseret News.
Sponsored in cooperation with the Home Builders Association of Great Salt Lake, this year's show is combined with the annual Showcase of Homes.
The HBA will present an information area with large colored photographs of 12 new homes constructed by its members. The new dwellings, featured in the organization's annual Showcase of Homes, are located throughout the Salt Lake Valley and south Davis County.
After visiting the Salt Palace exhibits, showgoers are invited to visit the homes during regular open-house activities during the week.
The HBA Remodeling Council, including architects, suppliers and remodelers, will be on hand to offer suggestions for renovation ideas. Those with remodeling plans are invited to bring them for evaluation and suggestions, according to Gene Peterson, council member.
Half-hour demonstrations will be presented daily with professionals providing information on everything from home decorating and summer meals to residential lighting techniques and financing for a new home.
And the daily entertainment will feature a variety of performers - from boogie-woogie and comedy to bluegrass and barbershop.
The Small World Entertainers, the Saliva Sisters, the Salt Lake Good Time Jazz Band, the Rocky Mountain Jubilee and the Peewee Pickers will perform.
