Witnesses told police a man was shot in a west-side neighborhood during a dispute over a woman Monday night, Salt Lake Police Lt. Larry Stott said.

Police responded to the area of 1484 W. 1150 South about 11:35 p.m. Monday after receiving a report that several shots were fired into a group of people, Stott said.Witnesses said a group was arguing about a woman's relationship with two men when a vehicle drove by and several rounds of gunfire were fired into the group, Stott said.

One round struck a man, but both the gunman and the victim fled, and neither was found, Stott said. Hospitals Tuesday have not reported treating a man with a wound, Stott said.
