Delbert Ray Tebbs, 86, of Panguitch, Utah, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, a child of God, returned to his Father-in-Heaven on May 19, 1996 surrounded by his family.

He was born March 18, 1910 in Panguitch, Utah to Fielding Burnes and Ruth Asay Tebbs. Ray was reared and educated in Panguitch, where he graduated from Garfield High School and attended the University of Utah. On April 16, 1934, Ray married his sweetheart, Verda LeFevre in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They have been together for 62 years in Panguitch, spending 10 winters in St. George. He was a member of the LDS Church, dedicated home teacher, High Priest. He and his wife were temple workers in the St. George LDS Temple. Ray was an active member of the Farm Bureau where he was county president.He is survived by his wife, Verda and their children, Neucile and James F. Yardley, Panguitch; Marilyn K. Tebbs, deceased; Richard Ray and Irene Tebbs, Cedar City; Julia Ann and Barry L. Nicholes, McGill, Nevada; Michael LeFevre and Margaret Tebbs, Panguitch; Linda Sue and Broyce G. Jacobs, Cardston, Alberta, Canada; Angeli and Dean B. Sheffer, Riverton; 44 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Daniel A. and Nedra Tebbs, St. George; Ruth and VeLoy Butterfield, Salt Lake City; preceded in death by parents, one brother, Fielding Burnes Tebbs, Jr., two sisters, Cecil T. Adams and Addie T. Miller.

Ray described himself saying, "I have been a school teacher, carpenter, electrician, black smith, and boiler maker. I have ridden wild horses, I am a sheep and cattle rancher and have attempted any job which looked like it could be done."

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 23, 1996 at 1 p.m. in the Panguitch 3rd LDS Ward Chapel (200 No. 400 East) where friends may call Thursday morning from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Richfield, Utah.
