A new administrative office building will be built at the Davis County Solid Waste Management and Energy Recovery Special Service District's burn plant site near Hill Air Force Base, but officials want to make one last effort to trim the $103,820 price tag before construction begins.

The district board has approved a contract with Joseph Steenblik Construction Co. for the 1,200-square-foot building. Two board members, district manager James Young and Steenblik, will review the bid to determine areas where savings might be made. The board was especially concerned about the subcontractor bid of $17,500 for electrical work.Administrative offices for the district are now in a temporary trailer at the burn plant site.
