The Israeli army clamped a curfew on parts of the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip during a general strike Monday and dynamited and sealed houses of Palestinians accused of attacking soldiers.

The clampdown came as Palestinians throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip observed a general strike to mark the mass exodus of Arabs from Palestine 41 years ago during the Jewish war for statehood.Despite the measures, at least four Palestinians, including a 6-year-old girl, were wounded by army gunfire in violent confrontations in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources said.
