Sentencing of a former Brigham Young University employee charged with theft and computer fraud has been postponed until Aug. 11.

Gary P. Hendry, 50, of Midway, pleaded guilty last month to the charges, both second-degree felonies. The defendant could be sentenced up to 10 years in prison and fined $10,000 on each charge.Sentencing was postponed at the request of Adult Probation and Parole, which is not yet ready to make sentencing recommendations.

Hendry resigned from BYU's financial services department after BYU police filed charges accusing him of making false computer entries to conceal theft. As much as $250,000 may have been stolen over a four-year period.
