Deer Valley's Snow Park Lodge won the day lodge category of the National Ski Area Design Awards.

Architecture, function, landscaping, circulation, interior design of buildings and integration into the natural setting were elements considered by the judges.The judging panel was composed of seven people - architects, land planners, lodging consultants and ski area operators who travel extensively in snow country.

The winners of each of the four categories were: Overall Ski Resort: Blackcomb/Whistler, British Columbia; Hotel, Inn or Condominium: Sun Valley Lodge, Sun Valley, Idaho; Trail and Slope System: Copper Mountain, Colo.; Day Lodge: Snow Park Lodge, Deer Valley, Utah.

The awards were persented by John Fry, editor of Snow Country Magazine, at the National Ski Areas Association's 28th Annual National Convention and Trade Show last weekend.
