Residential construction loans made in the first nine months of operation of the Las Vegas branch of United Savings Bank/Western Mortgage Corp., the Ogden-based financial company, totaled nearly $29 million.

Mary Garner, vice president of residential loan operations for the company, said the branch opened in July 1988 and the employees have closed or committed construction loans totaling $28.8 million, which includes land acquisition, development and construction financing to builders and developers."With all the growth Las Vegas is experiencing, we anticipate residential loan activity in all aspects of home building and buying. April has been the highest volume month to date for the Las Vegas office with closed or committed loans of $8.9 million for construction and more than $2 million in long-term loan applications," he said.
