Do you know a West Jordan resident worthy of being Citizen of the Year? City officials would like to know.

The West Jordan City Council chooses one outstanding resident each year to represent the city in the annual parade and Western Stampede rodeo in July.Kevin Ellis, chairman of the city's Master Plan Committee, was named Citizen of the Year for 1988 and was nominated for the honor by a member of his committee. City officials are sending notices to all city boards and commissions asking members for nominations, said City Manager Ron Olson, but nominations will be accepted from anyone.

Nominations should be sent by May 26 to the West Jordan City Recorder, 1850 W. 78th South, West Jordan, 84084.

The City Council plans to select one of the nominees June 6.
