Salt Lake police are investigating the suspicious death of a man who was found in his bathtub in his Central City apartment.
Lt. Norm Thompson said Monday an autopsy failed to disclose what killed the man, 29, whose name was not released.A toxicology report is being prepared to determine "whether there's sufficient (drugs) to have caused a death," said Thompson.
"There's some indication that he had been beaten, but the specific cause of death is still pending the medical examiner's determination."
Officers were called to 544 E. First South, Apt. 5, just before midnight Sunday. The victim's nude body was found in the bathtub and appeared to have been scalded.
Witnesses told officers they saw the victim's roommate beating him earlier in the day, according to a police report.
