Thousands of people cheered when workers flipped a 9-foot onion burger, but they were even happier when it was ready to eat.

El Reno, Okla., officials say the small community outside Oklahoma City is famous for its onion burgers, and they set out to prove it in a colossal way Saturday. Chefs toiled about two hours over a burger consisting of 150 pounds of meat and an equal amount of onion."This is uniquely El Reno," City Manager Larry Palmer said of the town's Onion-Fried Burger Day.
