A man whose two infant daughters died under similar circumstances within three years told police his wife was upset after giving birth, apologizing both times for not having boys.
Robert Sims implicated his wife in the deaths, and said he thought the deaths were accidents, authorities said Sunday. The couple had told police the infants were abducted from their home.Police Sgt. Rick McCain said investigators may have enough evidence to file charges against Sims and his wife, Paula, but added, "I want to make sure we have all our ducks in a row."
McCain said that officials were awaiting the results of FBI tests on evidence before making arrests in the April 29 death of the Simses' 6-week-old daughter Heather Lee.
