Marker buoys have been installed to mark a safe channel near the San Juan arm of Lake Powell in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.

"Heavy siltation has occurred over the last year, considerably narrowing the lake channel near the inlet of the San Juan River," said John Lancaster, superintendent of the recreation area.Six channel buoys and several rock hazard buoys were placed by the National Park Service Aids to Navigation crew.

The marina has been closed since November while new water and sewer systems were constructed.
