A University of Utah researcher is seeking mothers and daughters to participate in a premenstrual syndrome study.

Carol A. Wilson, of the health education department, said eligible daughters must be the firstborn biological daughter, ages 12-17. Both mother and daughter must have regular menstrual cycles unless a hysterectomy has been performed without oophorectomy.Neither mother nor daughter can be breast feeding or taking oral contraceptives, estrogen, progesterone or psychotropic drugs. Surgery or major stressful life events cannot have occurred within the past six months.

At no time will drugs be administered during the course of the study, but research participation includes free diagnosis, medical evaluation and preventive care.

For more information, call Wilson at 581-5872 or 581-8328.
