The Davis County Health Department is conducting immunization clinics on the last Saturday of each month, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Clearfield clinic, 1034 S. 10th East, through September.

Mary Meredith, nursing division director, said public response to screenings held during the April Immunization Month was positive but also showed that some parents are unable to attend weekday clinics, so the Saturday sessions are being scheduled.State law requires parents of children entering kindergarten, day-care centers and other child-care facilities to provide a certificate of immunization.

Increased funding from the state is allowing the county to reduce the cost of DTP (diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis) immunizations from $8 down to $2, Meredith said. Parents unable to pay the immunization cost will not be denied service, however, Meredith said.
