Cora May Morris Rowley passed away Thursday, November 30, 1995 in Fillmore, Utah. She was near her 105th birthday.

She was born December 25, 1890 in Sanford, Colorado, the daughter of William Thomas and O'Lena Christina Mortensen Morris. She spent her early years in Parowan and was married to George Samuel Rowley on January 14, 1909 in the St. George LDS Temple. They were the parents of six children.She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in most of its organizations. She served for eight years as an ordinance worker in the St. George Temple. Following her release, she continued her temple service until her 102nd year. Cora and her husband filled two full-time proselyting missions and one stake mission. She remained alert and active until the last two weeks of her life.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters: G. Morris (Audrey) Rowley, Murray; Ramona R. (Warren) Munford, Cedar City, Utah; T. Leonard (Wanda) Rowley, Ogden, Utah; and Shirley R. (Lyle) Evans, Fillmore. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons: Morten, who died as an infant, and Richard Melvin (Lois) Rowley, Cedar City, Utah. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 101 great-grandchildren, and 96 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the 1st and 2nd Ward Chapel, 87 West Center in Parowan at 11 a.m. on Monday under the direction of Bishop Robert Shirts. Family and friends may call at the Southern Utah Mortuary (15 East 100 North) in Parowan from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, and at the ward chapel on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Parowan Cemetery.
