Chemistry professor Earl M. Woolley has been appointed chairman of the department of chemistry at Brigham Young University for a three-year term.

Grant W. Mason, dean of the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, announced that Woolley replaces J. Bevan Ott, who will return to full-time teaching and research.Woolley, who has been serving as assistant chairman, said he will appoint Nolan F. Mangelson to fill the assistant's position.
